Above is the link to download HBSA Radio’s financial accounts for 2016 to 2017. These are our official and certified accounts which are also available on the OSCR (Office of Scottish Charity Register) website and have been approved by them.
It is important to note the following. During the last year HBSA had a flood which destroyed almost all of our broadcast equipment. At HBSA we had the foresight to insure our equipment against damage or loss and our insurers duly paid out. The insurer’s paid HBSA in cash rather than the companies who replaced our equipment and this has given the impression that HBSA had a much higher income than in a normal financial year. Of the £17587 shown as HBSA income for the year – £12802 of this was the insurance payout and went straight to replacing our lost equipment. This means that in fact HBSA income for the year was actually £4785 once the adjustment is made. This money comes from fund raising, membership fees, donations and sponsorship. Our expenses for the year are licensing and insurance, which are rising fast, as well as equipment repair and upgrade. HBSA does not pay any personal expenses to any volunteers and all our funds are concentrated on improving and expanding the service.
